About Me
I’m Carrie, a 50ish woman living along the southern coast of Rhode Island in a small 900 square foot home that asks me to be thoughtful about what stays and what goes. With very little closet space and even less storage, this house has taught me how to live more gently, edit often, and let “enough” be enough. I’m married, and we’re raising our 16 year old son here at home, where we homeschool and take life one day at a time. Our family also includes two adult stepchildren, a 21 yearold stepdaughter and a 25 year old stepson, who are building lives of their own beyond our walls. Sharing space, time, and seasons has shaped the way I think about home and what it means to make room. We share our days with a quiet cat named Eve and a very small but very serious betta fish named Cherry Coke. I love books in all forms, anything related to planners or paper, and the simple thrill of a good thrift find. You’ll often find me sorting through shelves, stacks, and stories keeping what feels useful or meaningful, and letting the rest move on. Soft Coast RI is where I document this slower way of living — the decluttering, the everyday routines, the small home challenges, and the quiet beauty of an ordinary life by the sea. Nothing fancy. Just real life, lived gently.
